Why is the IALD Professional Member designation important to MW?

Professional membership is limited to experienced designers and is contingent on peer-review of an applicant’s portfolio. IALD members must abide by rules of ethics and do not sell or install lighting equipment. IALD members have worked on many of the world’s most recognized structures. The IALD’s role is to set the highest standards in the lighting design profession and to advance lighting design excellence in the built environment. These standards are in line with MW’s focus of delivering exceptional customer and technical service to our clients.

What is so great about Christina?

As a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Washington State University School of Design & Construction and over seventeen years of experience in lighting, Christina understands the design process and communication skills necessary to closely collaborate with architects, interior designers, and engineers.

Christina demonstrates a valuable duality in her approach to lighting design through her ability to balance creativity and artistry with the more technical side of the industry. She enjoys any opportunity to paint with light, primarily through the interplay of shade and shadow and through the application of luminous visual texture to the built environment.

Christina has experience in both the public and private sectors and has designed a variety of project types, including health care, higher education, K-12 schools, commercial, government, civic, retail, restaurant, and high-end residential. Escent Lighting, a division of MW Consulting Engineers, is a premier lighting design consultant serving the Inland Northwest and surrounding areas, and Christina has the distinction as the sole IALD member east of the Cascades.
